The 39th annual Big Island Fall Arts Exhibition is set for Nov. 6-27 at the Hawaii Museum of Contemporary Art.
All media is acceptable, but entries must be original work completed within the past year. Any Big Island resident 18 years and older can enter. Entries for the exhibit are due between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Oct. 30 and 10 a.m. and noon Oct. 31.
This year’s juror, Keiko Hatano, is originally from Tokyo but has lived in Hawaii since 1974. She is known for creating ball-jointed doll forms, most recently adding video and storytelling features to her creations. Her juror’s talk is set for 3 p.m. Oct. 31 at the museum.
The opening reception and awards presentation for the exhibition is slated from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on First Friday, Nov. 6. The museum is located at 141 Kalakaua St. in Downtown Hilo.
